clean rooms but the property feels outdated
The room furnishings exceeded my expectations compared to other budget hotels I’ve stayed at. The staff were very welcoming and attentive during our visit.
The property itself shows its age and could use significant renovations.

missingWrote a review on Jul 18clean bedsdelicious pancakespoor cleanlinessdead roachesmusty smell
I stayed at Rodeway in Charleston for a couple of nights and had mixed feelings about my visit. The hotel had a convenient location, just a short drive from downtown, which made exploring the area easy. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful, creating a welcoming environment right from check-in. However, the room had issues that couldn't be ignored. There was a musty smell upon entering, and I noticed some cleanliness concerns. Getting fresh linens was a hassle when I found hair left behind on the sheets. The dead roaches I encountered were particularly unsettling. The bathroom needed more attention as well. I found grime that should've been cleaned up before my arrival. On a positive note, the air conditioning worked well and kept the room cool, especially welcoming in the warm Charleston heat. One morning, I enjoyed pancakes from the breakfast, which were delicious. Overall, while there were nice touches, the lack of cleanliness needs serious improvement to make this a comfortable stay.

I recently stayed for 2 nights and really enjoyed the comfy beds and the working AC, which was a lifesaver. The outdoor pool was a nice spot to unwind after a long day, though the shallow end could use a bit of upkeep. Just a heads up, there was an odd odor in the hallway but it didn’t ruin my overall experience. 😊

Comfortable stay with friendly staff and decent room features. The mattress was surprisingly firm yet soft, providing a great night's sleep. Breakfast included some nice options like waffles and fresh seasonal fruits, although it was a bit limited. Although the property shows its age, it’s adequately maintained, making it a suitable choice for budget travelers.

Comfortable stay with a few late-night distractions
We enjoyed a cozy family stay for two nights with a clean room and comfortable beds. It was a bit noisy outside at night with guests chatting, but the convenient location made it easy to explore the area. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper!

Great value for a family! Clean beds and a surprisingly nice ambiance. The location was perfect for our adventures, just minutes from local attractions.
The extra blanket request felt like asking for a unicorn—totally laughed off! Also, the beds? Might as well have been sleeping on a trampoline!

would love to go back
The queen room had solid air conditioning that kept the room cool. It featured a microwave and refrigerator, great for snacks. The bath was decent, and I enjoyed cable channels while relaxing in the seating area. The outdoor swimming pool was nice and a good option to cool off in the heat.

A truly daunting stay
The staff was friendly, and the room had a decent layout, but we were unsettled most of the night. The experience was quite the rollercoaster.
However, the overall feeling of insecurity was overwhelming. There were strange noises and sketchy guests outside our door, which made sleep nearly impossible.
